Text I shared when posting image on social media, May 2, 2013: Celebrate Mama’s Day by sending the people in your life who have been rad Mamas an e-card. This is the piece I contributed to the Strong Families Mama’s Day project which honor Indigenous and First Nations Mamas through out Turtle Island whose fierce leadership move our communities forward and whose tender love hold our people and families together. This piece also honors my beautiful friend Morning Star who inspires me so much.

Fifty-nine Strong Families Network partners participated and used the art to support policy campaigns like maternal health, repealing Maximum Family Grant to ensure low-income families have access to Medi-Cal and supporting the passage of the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights.”
