As individuals, in organizations, in communities- indigenous women continually prove our strength in the face of threat and adversity. Our responses show that we are not passive victims of oppression but fierce agents in our people’s struggle for survival. We form organizations, networks and community-based projects to respond to the basic needs of our people. We are at the forefront of the actions of our people to defend our land, our lives and our livelihood.

The concept for this graphic came from my friend Iuri Lara who asked me to create the illustration so we could advance images of our muxeres.
