Original statement from 2014:
As a Xicana I understand how settler colonialism plays out in the lives of Indigenous peoples all over the world. My political solidarity is built on the shared experience of displacement and is accompanied by a true commitment to stand by my Palestinian brothers and sisters. One third of the edition will be donated to support the efforts of Palestinian Youth Movement’s efforts to support the work of Al Nakab Center for Youth Activities in Burj el Barajneh camp in Lebanon. Al Nakab Center is a 100% grassroots youth-organized initiative that is providing educational and cultural activities for Syrian and Palestinian refugees from Syria, as well as providing a community resource and gathering space for families in the area, filling in an essential gap facing the refugees.
